My MacRitchie Hike - I Survived!

Gee, I feel like a kid saying that - but hey, hiking 10km [I firmly believe it's 15km, but Michael says otherwise] is not small feat for Ms Couch-Potato-Me!

Here's a view of the trail.

My small Canon [10megapixel] is not doing much justice to the prettiness of it all! Green leaves, colourful butterflies [all of whom refused to stay still for a photo shoot] and virtually no bug-bites at all! :D
Here's the 'water body' Michael asked me to shoot - hah! It looks like the backlight from the sun, more like! Until you look closely lah..

Phew, I did well! [: For the first 0.5km. After a while, I'm really too exhausted for pictures. Gahhh!

I LIKE THIS! When I was eating chocolate cookies when walking, this bunch of monkeys [I counted 15! That's probably more than what the zoo has!] started trailing Michael and me and snarling at my cookies! RAWR!

Okay, maybe not snarling but ya know. They probably ain't got no Oreos. [:

Still, they should totally change this signage: Do not spite the monkeys by eating in plain view.

Another reason why the hike is worth it.

It's like some kiddo's drawing ehs. Or, some art-and-crafts with cotton wool.

THE REASON why we're hiking - the treetop trail!

Which is actually a lousy cool bridge which can hold 30 max, and actually has doors saying 'No Entry' to the 31st person. Also, no jumping, running, strenuous activities. Just walk, talk, get off for poor 31st person to get on.

But, it's like standing at the top of the... jungle. See!

Oh for the record, this hike was on Saturday. You see, I needed time to recover from aching calves.
